Installing Windows 11 on an "incompatible"System

Install Windows 11 on an “incompatible” PC

There are multiple ways Windows 11 can be installed on incompatible hardware.

Option 1 - The Registry Hack

It’s possible to install Windows 11 on an incompatible system by booting from the Windows 11 ISO, when the setup dialog appears, hit SHIFT + F10 to open a command shell and run regedit

Create the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ Setup

Once you have created the registry key, create new DWORD (32-bit) Values for:

  • BypassTPMCheck
  • BypassSecureBootCheck
  • BypassRAMCheck

Double click eeach of them and set their values to 1

Exit regedit and continue with the setup

Option 2 - Replace Windows 10 ISO Disk Image

The second option is to download both the Windows 10 and Windows 11 ISO files. Once you have downloaded the ISO files. Once downloaded you can replace the *sources/install.esd" file on the Windows 10 iso with that from the Windows 11 ISO. Your old Windows 10 ISO is now a full Windows 11 installer without the hardware requirement checks.
